It brings me joy to think that I have made an item that someone has chosen to bring into their home. It's a labour of love and inspiration.

The cold and dark winter season of Iceland, where I was born, gives rise to a certain type of creativity amongst the people of the country. As a child, I used to love watching my grandmother knit. Her traditional and creative knitting style was my first source of inspiration in the world of crafts and artistry.

At the age of 10, my family moved to Australia where my mother's friend started teaching me how to crochet. I started making doily after doily in an array of colours. However, since my family was in the fishing business, I spent more time using a net needle to repair and make fishing nets than I did using any type of needle for craft.

My family can bear testimony to my aspiring creative side as a teenager. I used to gift them everything from handmade cards with cross-stitch embellishments to painted boxes and journals. I was especially proud of the journals I gave my sisters, each page of the year hand written by me in very fancy calligraphy, the things you do as a teenager!

After a creative pause in terms of crafts, I met my now-husband in Australia. Together we did a 3-month road-trip which naturally included a lot of driving — by my husband. So I had a lot of time on my hands and entertained myself by taking up crochet again.

The driver-husband to be and I moved to Wales in the UK and married. Our wedding gave me the opportunity to create table decorations and ornaments for the event which gave it a very personal touch. That is what I want to bring in to the craft I make and sell on this website, a personal touch with colours and shapes inspired by the world around me.

Creating each item you see on the website, really is a labour of love, I enjoy every minute of it and I hope the products bring a personal creative touch to your home.
